Bill O'Reilly goes nuts!

This guy is out of control - no other interpretation available. That teleprompter operator was likely trying to roll back, edit and roll forward - all with Mr. Douchebag in one ear and the director in the other. That is the guy you should empathize with, not the overpaid, spoiled crybaby behind the desk who was late to a two-martini lunch.

For the love of Mike. Compassionate Revisionism is really ruining the planet.

I'm sure he wasn't "late" for something. I mean, what can be more important than your highly paid public gig as a professional teleprompter reader?
 
Having worked for a local television news station in the past, I can say that I've seen worse.

Bill O'Reilly's made his living lately being a professional douchebag, so it's not like this is anything out of context or out of character for him. He's a jerk, through and through, and it doesn't matter whether or not the teleprompter issue was his fault or not (it was), you don't treat your crew like that.

If I was the camera person for that program, explain to me why I should want to keep working with someone like that? It explains why this was leaked, though - you could see where someone decided to keep it rolling and hold on to the footage - people like that get exposed for the douches they are when they piss off the crew who decide to let the camera keep going, hell I have some footage myself of folks that have treated me poorly while I was filming them and I still go back and check out the edits I made to it every once in a while to keep me smiling when they decide to give me more problems.
 
Those are all awesome, I espcially like the one where the reporter is going back and forth with the anchor.
 
Jeez... I posted the exact explanation of the bill o'reilly clip... and people are still speculating. Get SIRIUS radio and you can hear clips like that in their uncensored entirety. "They" played the Bill clip from calm... to rant... all the way to the end. He wasn't late, nobody was delaying the prompter... he got confused by a sentence. Douche'? Yes... but anyway... that's the real story.
 
I don't think anyone's speculating - the clip is pretty self-explanatory. :)

The only disagreement seems to be because some people don't think it's that big of a deal; people freak out all the time - while others think that a 60 second clip of a guy having a meltdown 20 years ago - that was never supposed to be seen by the general public - somehow enables them to make sweeping generalizations about his character. :thumbsup:

We have ALL - without exception - had moments where for 60 seconds at some point in our lives, if cameras had been on, and were the footage to be shown on youtube, people would come to the same conclusion: Wow, that speaks volumes about this person. He must be SUCH an a-hole.

The thing is 99.9% of us well never have the public "status" for anyone to care to watch our rant. So while we say "I'd never act like that" the reality of it is the majority of the human race wouldn't care anyway. It's a blessing and a curse to be a nobody......:evil:
And before anyone jumps on my opinion realize that this is exactly why we have tabloids and none of us are in them. People love the dirt on famous people.

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. The only thing you can know for sure is that he acted like one for 60 seconds in this particular clip, 20 years ago. Big deal. :)

Who here has the kind of work pressure that O'Reilly and others in a similar profession have? Who here is subject to NASTY trashing in liberal blogs all over the world on a daily basis? Who here has to deal with the barrage of hate mail and threats that befall any celebrity, much less a politically-oriented talk show host?

Nope, I've never gone off on a co-worker, friend or family member like O'Reilly did. But I thank GOD I don't have to walk in O'Reilly's shoes either.

People who already hate him will see this as justification of that hatred. People who don't hate him will tend to say, "There but for the grace of God go I."
