Bill O'Reilly goes nuts!

Come on, guys! This clip was obviously taken out of context. It is apparent that something more had happened and he was frustrated. I am not supporting yelling at your staff, but even still, we all have our moments where we go a little over board. You are kind of blowing this out of proportion and I don't know if it is a bias issue or what, but it is a bit ridiculous.

I completely agree. O'Reilly looks at his watch several times throughout the clip, as if he's running late and needs to be somewhere. Considering how fast he snapped from violent screaming and cursing to smirking and "signing off" in that last bit, he's obviously good at concealing his feelings... my guess is that he was already pretty pissed about something before the clip even began.

If you're late for something or pissed off then get up and walk out. Don't act like a child in public and don't treat your crew like garbage.

The fact that some people are acting like he has an excuse to act like this is troubling.

Nothing personal, I just don't think this is normal behavior for a grown man. Mommy must have breastfed him for 12 years and given him everything he ever wanted.

He reminds me of those know-it-all Geography teachers from 10th grade.

Hehe he was actually an English & History teacher for High school students, as far as I know...so that explains alot. He thinks his viewers are under 18. :D

Him being a conservative explains alot about the absurd sexual harassment suit that he got from his worker a few years back hahaha

Another point I'd like to bring up is that Bill is perfect for Fox News. Most of what cable news says is distorted one way or another, so these types of political commentators on television are watched by millions because they are entertaining, not necessarily news worthy. I always Bill's show and always shake my head before changing the channel.

I previously withheld comments on this (because of the potential for it to become a political thread) but I was listening to serious the day somebody "released" this.

The situation was that Bill was struggling with what he perceived to be a mistake on the teleprompter... he was concluding the show and Sting, was to "play them out"... as in... the credit roll would be accompanied by a Sting song... but in the longer cut, you heard that Bill didn't want to admit that the sentence confused him, and that he was unfamiliar with the term "play us out"... and he assumed it was an unfinished note from the guy that put up the teleprompter script. He assumed that it had some other meaning other then the logical words that he was to speak... so after the outburst, you could hear the stage manager explaining the term... then Bill goes into this pompous rant about how he will fix the problem by doing it live... and then he simply says "we'll close with a cut from the new Sting album"

As if that justified his anger... which was directed at anyone other then who deserved it... himself. His own embarrassment about his own confusion, is what fueled the tantrum. Funny... and... telling.

LOL :thumbsup::D:evil:

That doesn't change the fact that it's hilarious to watch.

Didn't say it did.

I've had some pretty bad days in my life but I have never taken it out on staff and/or acted like a child in front of them. That's a quick way to lose all their respect for you.

He obviously has a short fuse and is used to getting his own way.

Mike

Well sure, but that's you. Besides we don't know what happened before this.

Thank you.

And one more thing Mike, no one is saying this is an excuse or justifying what he did. What I am saying, however, is that some people can't handle certain situations as calmly as you and we cannot make assumptions based on this short clip.

I've had plenty of heated arguments, don't get me wrong. But you can do this without coming off as a two year old who was just told that they have to share for the first time.

Seriously, this is not normal behaviour and it should never be tolerated or accepted. Regardless of the circumstances.

I always get a laugh out of people that "know everything" from scanning the headlines. Unless you were there, you don't know. It's easy to say you would have handled it differently when A- you see only 30 seconds of it and B- you're an arm chair critic.
I watched a blurb where Dan Marino loses it when he flubs a line. Maybe it's that perfectionist part of his personality that made him a great athlete and maybe the lack of that trait is why we're here filming weddings, soccer games and 10 minute shorts that take a year to make.......

Again, I'm not pretending to know the circumstances. I really don't care what they are.
It's unacceptable behaviour for a grown man to act this way.

I don't care how successful you are, it doesn't give you the right to treat people like that. BTW, I watched the Marino freak-out. Did you pay attention to the people around him? They obviously agree with me.

I agree the people around Marino felt like you or I would, but none of us are Hall-of-famers....

I don't condone it, but it's hard for me to chastise the guy since I wasn't there and don't even know who the heck he is....... It's like your girlfriends sister coming in at the end of an argument and seeing you pissed and thinking you're the bad guy but not hearing the part where your girlfriend is sleeping with your friends while you're at work.......:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Dude was having a nut about the teleprompter delaying. I would have kept ****ing it up on purpose to piss him off even more.

That would be funny. Just don't use him for a job reference the next day when you're looking for work.....:D

Again, I don't care if Marino is the President. He still shouldn't act like a psychopath.

As for the GF analogy... that's not bad. I would be yelling at her pretty good but I still wouldn't act like a child while doing it. Did you watch the clip? Besides, what we do in private is a little bit different than what happens at work. He should at least try to be professional.

The majority of us do not act like children when the teleprompter screws up. I still wonder why everyone is giving this guy 1000 excuses. I don't care if he's late for his Mom's funeral. Just get up and leave then. That would be far more professional.

:D
