I was looking into getting a used bike and learning how to ride... and then I started reading this thread. Yes I freely and loudly admit I'm a pu**y when it comes to lacerations, contusions and fractures. I've spent way too much time in ERs and ICUs taking care of the after math. I think I'll stick to rolling in cages for now. Best of luck guys and stay safe. Your balls are bigger than mine but my skin is a whole lot prettier than yours ;p
if you drive like everybody else is out to kill you - because they are - your chances go up quite a bit.
true dat......i'd rather had lived a life than a long one just living!Rakesh,
I got my first motorcycle license in 1968. I've been down, more than once, but I've never hurt myself. No broken bones, no road rash, no concussions. Ever. I'm not going to argue that I've maybe been lucky, but if you drive like everybody else is out to kill you - because they are - your chances go up quite a bit. Then if you wear some protective gear - in addition to your helmet - like good gloves, jacket and pants with armored pads, good boots with ankle protection, and maybe a backpad, you'll be fine.
That is not a guarantee that you will not ever get hurt, but your chances of walking away from the accident is improved by an order of magnitude.
If you ride in flip-flops, shorts, a t-shirt and some Oakleys, remember that asphalt is the worlds fastest tattoo-remover.
