I think it also has to do when setting the AF area to Wide (or that is what Sony Service told me when I had the FX6 & 28-135 in for a clean/service).

Hmm! That's interesting. I use the 28-135 a lot on the FX6. Just find it a very usable combo and "Wide" is the setting I always use with that lens. Can't say I have had any issues with either, LO or Hi Base.
