He lives in Spring Hill, FL.

His area code may be 352.

He uses aliases and changes his user name (he's had at least 3 or 4 DVXuser names).

Some of the documented cases are for custom car work (he tried to scam a custom shop out of $16,000 of work, they almost went broke).

He supposedly does everything from misrepresenting old cameras (an old XL1) in trading for new ones, to getting free or upgraded software from people.

Someone on DVXuser said they were scammed out of a Letus.

People on Flickr even say he steals their shots and puts his name on them.

Scams:

1) misrepresented the items he sent (i.e. broken)
2) tries to sell stuff he doesn't have (tool chests, rolexs, etc.)
3) pays you with paypal and then files for unauthorized use of said account.
4) using stolen credit card numbers (pretending to be those other people).
5) signed up under different SN's to give himself a positive trader rating, and to vouch for him.
6) pretends to be a lawyer, or threatens frivolous lawsuits."

yup. he scammed me out of an HVX200, 2 16GB P2 cards, a tripod, and a shot gun mic. I rented them to him, and he never returned them, and now he says that it wasn't him. I'm trying to get the stuff back. I have to take him to court. I need all the proof I can get against him.

Check the link. When I click on it, it takes me to my own FaceBook page - not his. I am in no way connected to Joe Dono.
 
It had linked to it earlier. He must have altered his privacy settings on Facebook. I saved the
picture while it was available.
 
Interesting, I had an offer for my HVX that's for sale here from a new member with zero post wanting me to fed X it out to him today.

I sent him 3 or 4 corespondents with no return.
 
i make it a general rule not to do ANY business on the forum with anyone with under about 20 posts. and not all of them being in the marketplace...
 
Real names, real pics. A lot of other boards want real names now. REDuser which, Jarred runs wants real names. I think it is time for this forum to do the same. I have gone so far as to avoid dealing with anyone in Florida. I know its severe but I am not taking any chances with stuff I sell.

I wouldn't be opposed to that at all. It would take some getting used to and I wonder if there are multiple people with the same name.

Without a SSN and background check it is useless, what makes you think someone can't make their name Ted Simmons when it's really Joe Scammer?
