Better SD setting for 4:3, 480p

I'm shooting in SD, 4:3, 480p, with DVCpro50.

Is there any advantage to shooting 16:9 and clipping the frame sides to fill a 4:3 box in post rather than just shooting 4:3 in the camera?

I'm asking this as there are many mentions of the HVX200 operating natively as 16:9 so I'm wondering if there is any disadvantage to recording 4:3.

Thanks!

As the sensor is oversized for SD, it's probabaly best to shoot 4:3 in camera.

In camera it's a "down-rez" to 4:3. In post from a 480p source, it would be a "cross-conversion" that would cost you resolution.
