Being a big fan of Beth Hart, I could not resist the challenge she put on her Facebook page 'make a videoclip for Thru The Windows Of My Mind' and win 2 tickets for a show. Beth Hart has been pretty popular in Europe eversince she brought us LA Song. It's standard procedure to be quick to buy tickets, as every show here is sold out. Always. She got a second chance in the US to let her star realy rise, when she performed together with Jeff Beck at the Buddy Guy Tribute a few months ago (and her team-up with Joe Bonamassa). Obama was attending the tribute... She got an standing ovation. Now her facebook page gained 70.000 likes. As a fan I'm realy happy for her about that. And I don't mind the chance of reaching that 70.000 followers (or some of them).
The contest was made public a small month ago. I noticed it two weeks later. I got very enthousiastic, and after that: very busy with other work. So last tuesday evening I wrote a small script with a simple story. But since I also had work to go to, I had only one and a half day left to make it happen. I decided to let it go. Wednessday morning I got struck by another plan. Wrote noting down, just went to my 91 years old grandmother and asked her if she would like to make a musicvideo with me. Let her listen to the song, showed some Youtube clips. Grandma was on board. Friday morning we recorded, friday afternoon untill after midnight I edited. It had to be uploaded today, but since there is a big time difference between the US and the Netherlands, I decided to play it safe I made sure that yesterdays last activity would be uploading that clip.
It was the first real use of my brand new AC130AEJ. I'm sure I missed a lot of it's benefits and handy features. But man did I have a good time with it.
I'm not realy in it for the tickets. Inspired by the moment and ofcourse the great music that I already was playing at a dayly base.
Any comments on it? Please let me know!
(Sorry about the part that I didn't use my ND filters propperly.... I kind of like the effect of that in this clip, but I would have liked it better if I had done that differently...)
