Best way to mount the SmallHD DP1 LCD monitor to my HPX170?

I just emailed a few people about the Noga Arm, Lor. I'll you know what i hear back. I too an purchasing a DP1 soon and wish to have a mounting system to match my HVX200 + Brevis 35mm. If you find anything out let me know too!

I wrote filmtools and they said:

"The Noga arm that you’re looking at can hold up to 9 lbs, so this should do the trick, assuming your monitor weighs less than 9 lbs. As for working on the HVX, I’m not sure if the top of the camera has a ¼” thread or 3/8”. The Noga arm that you’re looking at has a 1/4 “ on both ends. If you can figure this out, then you should be good to go! If you have further questions let me know."

So, it seems safe. (im thinking of getting the same thing for the same reason)

Okay, this is what I wrote to Redrock Micro regarding their microMount and microArm.

Okay, so since you don't have a picture that shows it work together, can I return the items in for a full refund if it does not work? The reason I asked is because the microArm has 1/4" 20 male screws on each end and the microMount has male ¼” 20 adapter with tightening ring. So, can you explain how to males with both 1/4" 20 thread can connect to each other?

And so far I have not received their response since Fri, March 26, 2010 1:16:45 PM. According to those two pictures and description I posted above, I don't see how these two pieces will work together since all of them are males and I don't see any part that is female.

I'm using the Noga with my 170 and the DP-1. It works very well - no complaints at all - rock solid, even hand held.

One thought; you can use an adaptor to mount the monitor on a small light stand and keep it next to your camera.

Thanks but if the camera is on a tripod then I won't need the external monitor. I need the arm mount so that it goes with wherever the camera is going. I'll be carrying the camera instead of putting it on a tripod.
