Best Tripod for the money?

I am looking for a good, but affordable tripod (head, legs), and was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions. Thanks.

note: I would be using this for both video and stills.

Depends on budget for sure, but if you are looking for something cheap then the Manfrotto 190XB and the 701HDV head is a great combo. I bought them for approx $225 as a package.

I was in the same situation a couple months ago. I already have a nice main tripod but wanted a second that was still of pretty good quality but more affordable.

I wound up going with these legs Slik 700DX Pro Tripod Legs (amazingly STURDY for the price) and the Manfrotto 501 Tripod Head is really nice for the price. That will put you at around $300 for both tripod and legs. This should work great for either an A or B cam. If you need to save just a little more money then you could probably go with the Manfrotto 701HDV Tripod Head, but you may run into some issue if you ever decide to put more weight on the head mattebox, FF, heavier lens, etc).

This probably your best BUDGET set up.

I do not support opinion that photo legs are always good.
Sometimes (if you are panning or just holding your camera) best photo legs are worse than good (large diameter legs and sturdy) alu chinese tripod with middle spreader.
