I have purchased the HVX 200! Now to find the best workflow. Also purchased 3,
4 gig P2 cards. I understand the time to offload one is longer than 4 mintues of shooting time. So the third card is needed while offloading one. The options I am considering are:

1. New laptop with all bells and whistles to download p2 cards (see Barry's Perfect Computer or the Dell mentioned)
Positives are PCMCIA slot, fast processor, viewable files, etc.
Downside, expense and size

2. P2 Store

3. FS 100
positives are direct to disk recording
negatives are numerous posts regarding poor connectivity

4. Cineporter. Not out yet

I am leaning towards the laptop. Does anyone have suggestions.

I think if you've already blown the cash on the 3 4 gigs which must have run you at least $1700, then you might as well go with a P2 store or laptop.
 
I always use a laptop, Mac or PC, it doesn't matter. That way you can view a few seconds of the downloaded footage before you erase the card. I just recently bought a Toshiba Satellite U205-S5022. I installed Swissknife and Macdrive so all my bases are covered.
