i couldn't find a specific thread while searching.

i might shoot a narrative mostly on ETC mode.
i wasn't sure if ETC may act different on various patches.
what's the current patch for best+stable 24p ETC mode?
thanks.

The biggest problem is that some of the patches that are considered to offer higher quality noise rendering will fail in ETC mode. Some patches are stable in regular mode and not in ETC mode.

Also what is your definition of stable? Never fails in any fashion? Fails sometimes in certain ways?

that's exactly why i'm asking ;)

thanks.
so what you linked me is a stable patch for a class 6 card for example, right?

about the card- i was asking the question regarding a best possible card.
i didn't mention any card yet cause i just wanted to know where i stand before investing further.
i didn't know whether ETC is even stable at all.

oh, one more question.
those 99% safe ETC patches are NOT 24p Intra, right? (a may be wrong)
and if i want a safe ETC Intra patch? is there one?

I use driftwood's seaquake. I almost exclusively use ETC mode as I use mostly fast fujinon zoom lenses. I have never had any issues whatsoever. It is about 88mbps, and looks great. Just keep in mind that ETC really does amplify the noise, so make sure you have a good noise reduction program like NeatVideo or similar. But anyway, it works a dream.

That seems like a low bitrate for SeAQuake, are you shooting in 24H? Also, what sort of material? That is the sort of bitrate I got shooting the moon in BW Smooth with AQuarius 2.

I used Pictoris a.k.a Baby Quantum, and shot an entire interview in ETC mode with no problems. I was using a Sandisk 30mb/s 32 gig card.

The bitrate is around 77mbs I believe. I would usually cut and restart each clip before spanning time, just to be safe, so I can't confirm if it'll span in ETC mode. I did record several 5-7 minute takes, though.
