Hey all.

about to purchase my dvx100b and had a few quick quesitons. I see sometimes that dvx users get special discounts from certain stores, does this apply to the camera itself aswell?

what is a good price for the camera? I am currently looking at picking one up off of an ebay store, for 3700 canadian with a few accessories. Good price? Concidering the store has over 17 thousand sales and a positive feedback of 97 percent, i am not too worried as to the authenticity of the product but perhaps there is a better bargain or deal elsewhere that i am not aware of.

here it is on ebay

Good idea? Bad idea? What did you guys pay for yours? Are there any drawbacks to ordering it through an ebay store? I've ordered my audio technica at835b shotguhn mic off of ebay with complete success.

comments?

So through these guys, i can get magic bullet, a warranty, etc... ?

should i just email rush and ask him for a price quote? What's the next step?

Yup. Rush will give the best price and all the goodies. Shoot him an email and note the DVXuser discount.

so what exactly would i be getting if i bought the camera through evs olnine rather than ebay? Warranty and magicbullet?

lol where does peace of mind come into this? magic bullet or not!??? lol

I dont think magic bullet comes with the 100b, all the legit sites I have been to only show the $200 rebate.

Yep, Editors 2.0 is in there.

PaPa, I don't trust that eBay deal at all.:lipsrseal

i kinda agree. the only reason im having doubts about doubting it is because of its reputable feedback. The store has sold over 17 thousand items, with 97 % positive feedback.

What should i be "being careful" about? Not getting anything? getting a model made in south india? not the NTSC model? like what kinda downers are there ?

All of the above. Plus, no warranty. No extras like Barry's great book. Just stay away from ebay.

I do a lot of shopping on E-bay and let me tell you I didn't buy my camera from there. No matter how good the persons feedback is if he's not an authorized dealer it going to be very difficult for you. When I worked for apple ,there were many customers buying their products on E-bay thinking they were getting a great deal but the first time something happened and they had to call in they realized what type of deal they got. Unless you are authorized most companies do not recognize the sale as being valid. Yes you may still have a warranty ( Big maybe ) , but a lot of companies especially with high priced items start the warranty from the original date of purchase. So what that means is that your trusted e-bay friend "may" sell you a good camera that has a warranty but it could have been sitting in his garage for 6 months and you are pretty much stuck. Please heed the advise of all the people on the forum and buy from someone you can trust.

kk, i e-mailed rush and asked him all about pricing and stuff. Has anyone here bought a dvx100b off of evsonline with rebates? How much did you guys pay?

Also i was checking out the whole 200 dollar mail in rebate for panasonic and saw that the offer is only valid " in the 50 states"

Canada left out of the picture or what?

it comes with MB for Editors 2

if u buy from ebay and being in Canada there are even more chances of getting scammed.

have someone in NY buy it 4 u, so that u qualify 4 the rebate.

what do u guys think of this http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=PNAGDVX100B#

it's weird 'cos the 100a used 2 b $3100, minus rebate = $2600
but as soon as the 100b came out everybody jacked the price to $3500,- Rebate= $3000 so now it's just as much to get a B than an A.

they might have some specials at DVExpo next week, last year they had the 100a 4 $3199, for like 3 days only, but then again Cali taxes suck a$$

Well I went to Panasonics canadian website and I didn't see anything about it on there. You could try calling panasonic I guess.

I would also like to see what you guys have to say about that deal? Worth it?

unless, of course, rush's deal through evsonline is better?

You seem pretty intent on getting shafted. I say go ahead with the Ebay deal. After all, look at all the accessories you get! Kidding. There are a ton of downers. You don't know if you're getting a grey market cam or not. You don't know if it will be covered by warranty. You DO know that all the accessories are crap, and the most reputable DVX site on the net is telling you to steer clear. Do what you will, we'll be here to say we told ya so.
