GH2 Best Practices for minimizing rolling shutter jello, wobble, jitters on the GH2

What do you guys think can be done to mitigate subtle shakiness on telephoto lenses? I'm mounted on a substantial tripod with the 100-300mm Lumix lens set @ 300mm and the slightest breeze will cause the lens to shake ever so slightly, which is EVER so visible in the 1080p video.

I've thought part of the problem could be that the point of contact on the tripod is the GH2 body itself and not the middle of the lens. So the lens is really hanging out there and when it catches slight wind (let alone any significant wind which ruins anything shot) it renders the footage useless.

Is there some kind of rails system that allows you to clamp the lens into it so the camera body and lens don't ever differentiate from each other?

A while ago I was filming an event with the camera on a tripod and the OIS was turned on. Here I thought I would end up with perfectly stable footage and was shocked to see what happened when someone walked in front of the person talking I was filming. The OIS locked onto the person walking and tried to follow them. This made the entire scene jump. From now on when I use a tripod I'll turn the OIS off.

Are you sure the tripod didn't get knocked? What you describe sounds more like the side-effects I'd associate with digital stabilization where motion vectors are calculated from the image, not OIS which typically relies on gyroscopes to detect physical movement of the lens to the best of my knowledge. I'm not sure how OIS could 'lock' onto a person's movement...

Ryan, yes, there are rail mounted lens clamps. I will link some examples below. The other thing to do though would be to get the heaviest, sturdiest tripod, head, and mounting point to the camera that you can.

There are probably tons of other variations too. Just search for lens rail clamp, lens rail support, etc.

Awesome. Thank you Shenan. Exactly what I didn't know about that I was trying to articulate.
