GH2 Best place to purchase Panasonic GH2 batteries...

I need to purchase around 4 of the official Panasonic GH2 batteries. No aftermarket/knockoff batteries, just the official expensive Panasonic batteries. From what I can tell Adorama looks like the best price on these but I was curious if anyone has an alternate suggestion.

Thank you in advance!

Yeah I've only done the standard vendors for batteries (B&H, Adorama) because I don't want to risk getting any knockoffs. A lot of vendors, especially on eBay, are a bit misleading with their packaging / descriptions / etc.

Exactly. I have several official batteries and a handful of the OEM knockoffs. The knockoffs work just fine BUT (and its a big but) they die suddenly without warning. So if I'm doing a long shoot, it can screw up the last clip that was recording during shutoff. Happened recently to me on an education client. The battery died mid-lecutre and the clip had a corrupted ending so it couldn't even COPY off the SD card. I used Windows 7's CHKDSK utility, had it repair problems, which it did and then I was back in business.. Still a bad problem to have.

I hate paying $50 for each battery but apparently thats just what it is. I was hoping someone would point out something obvious that I was missing like Amazon or something.

I'm in the same dilema. I need more power! I am toying with buying the tekeon battery back and Panasonic AC adapter for a solid 10hrs of use and I can always use the battery pack for other things like lights if I sell my GH2 down the road (or panasonic changes up the batteries on the GH3).

The best solution out there IMHO is the Dolgin plate on a rig.
I placed the adaptor on my shoulder pad in place of a weight and am using a Panasonic battery (for HVX200) to power my camera plus monitor (with the optional secondary output) for over 4 hours!
This is the best solution if you need long lasting power with common batteries (he also has a plate for Sony battery)

I just saw your rig in the Dolgin thread... very cool. Looks like a solid solution. I will definitely look into this in the near future...
