GH2 Best NTSC Broadcast settings for the GH2, will be shooting with Sony EX3 (1080/60i)

I've searched the forum and not found any settings that would help me. I've had the GH2 for a few days trying to get the best settings to match my EX3. The quality of the GH2 is not even close to what I've seen here on this forum. So I'm convinced I've got the camera setup wrong. Could someone give me a list of settings that would turn out excellent footage for the 1080/60i?

I'm planning a shoot a show that will be broadcast in the states soon with the Sony EX3 and the GH2. The EX3 in 1080/60i puts out excellent footage. Just wanted the GH2 to match as closely as possible.

Thanks for any advice on settings.

You make sure mechanical dial on top right set to M next to c3. Then make sure set at 24p high. Should be good. I was ex1 before, gh2 can match it but looks different style. I did some comparing to my old ex1 footages. Gh2 jst as good.

Thanks for your reply. I've checked all that, instead of the 24p, as I'll be matching the EX3 1080/60i, which is what I set the GH2 on. I know it's only 17mb/s, but it still should look very good. I lay this footage down on a Premiere CS5 1080/60i timeline and render it out, and it doesn't look good at all. Not even close to what I've seen on line. Either I've got a bad GH2 or some setting is off. Using Film mode: Natural, Record Mode: AVCHD (1080i), Record Quality: FSH, Exposure Mode: A. Is there any other setting that would make the video look bad?

I've worked with HD camcorders most of my video days and not familiar with still cameras. I've read tons of threads on this site trying to get up to speed, but can't seem to get the settings right.

Everyone says use 24P but in pal areas 24P is awful so i use 1080i or 720P, the fact there is no 25P is a huge loss but i find 1080i and 720P footage not bad with 720P the cleanest of the two, interested in what you find bad with yours is it the same playing from the camera via hdmi to tv.

A couple of possible culprits: ISO set too high? (some people don't like the grain at high ISOs) Auto White Balance on? (manual gives better results)

Thanks brunerww, I'll have to check that. There is a possibility I had the ISO high because I was test shooting inside. As I'm use to camcorders, how does one know what is the best ISO setting? Is there a rule for that?
