Hello, I will be buying a 550D in a month, considering my budget for the moment, I'm just wondering what's the best lens for shooting videos in weddings? BTW, I love this forum! :)

These lenses are currently out of stock in BH Photo...I think it will be in the coming weeks when I purchase my 550D. Thanks Jordan

Tamron 17-50 2.8 with VC and a fast 70-200 will fulfill most of your needs. If you need a fast walk around prime for the reception, get the sigma 30mm 1.4. The 50mm 1.8 is much cheaper but with the crop factor, you have to back up a ways to get anything in the picture. That's the three lenses I'd concentrate on getting and then you can add from there.

What are some of the most recommended fast 70-200 lenses toward the budget end of the spectrum?

Tamron and Sigma both make 70-200 2.8 for around $700. That's half the price of the Canon equivalent. You could probably get away with something slower like a zoom with a constant aperture of 4.0 since the places you'll need it (the ceremony and first dance) usually have good lighting. I'm using an old Vivitar 75-205 3.8 and it works okay.

The Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS is considered by many to be the sharpest of all four of Canon's offerings in this zoom range. If you're patient, you can find a used one from a reliable seller, such as B&H, for about $1000. I used the non-IS for about a year and stepped up to IS recently. Like switching from a Toyota to a Lexus.
