Hey all,

My panny is only 6 months old and I'm ready to get some additional primes to try out.

I have a few cheapo CCTV lenses to try out for some artistic video shots but with the ETC, I fear the worst.

I am looking for a good prime that I can add an adapter to and get a fast lens for under $200... And one that will cover the whole sensor and not use ETC.

Is there such a thing?

Thanks for all of your help,
Gunder

When I bought my Nikon adapter, it was about $60 or so. It may not be the 'best' but it seems to work for the lenses I've briefly tried with it.

In terms of 'fast' and "Nikon" lenses, there's a 24mm f/2.8 that I've seen on e-bay for around 150-200. If you move to Vivitar or Sigma, you may find something cheaper...

And remember, you can take advantage of 50 years or so worth of compatibility on Nikon lenses as well as the 3rd party producers... on older Nikon lenses there may be a 'tab' on the lens. This was to engage the light meter prism system, and does no affect the use in cameras like the GH-1/2.

Canon FD for the most bang for your buck. F2.8 are pretty cheap on the wide end. Above 35mm f2.0 and F1.8 are pretty cheap as well. With FD you can go all the way up to 135mm at F2.0 which is pretty darn long and fast.

I have a FD 50mm f1.8 I paid about $35.00 for and it is great. A bit long for run and gun but gorgeous for interviews.
