GH4 best free pixel peep software?

[wwjd]

Hey, what software lets one do the most accurate pixel peeping of frames in a video file? I'm looking to zoom in and SEE exactly what is in the pic pixel color wise, and knowing what subsample info is in there.

I'm aware of MediaInfo prog that reads out all the tech info of a file, what about being able to zoom in and visually SEE the pixels properly?

Zooming in Vegas gets only so far and I am not sure what dithering is going on. Saving a pic and zooming in other viewer software puts it through a render process so I don't know what has really been done to it.

My end goal is SEEING what is added or removed when upscaling or downscaling the sizes of the video.

Thanks!

I question the usefulness of such a process. You will only ever watch it at 100% on a TV, so use that as your litmus and just get up real close.

It is literally for a secret project I am working on. I need to be able to SEE and PROVE my results. I don't usually pixel peep, but this is a requirement for Proof Of Concept.

What is the very best, most accurate photo viewer out there? Like, irfannview or xnview, zoom down to individual pixel coloring?

Every software app is going to read the video data and use it's own algorithms to process and present the image display, so I don't think there is any "one true" imaging app.

I normally export PNGs from Sony Vegas and then use Adobe Fireworks/Photoshop to present magnified sections of the video frame.
