I've been shooting pretty exclusively with 24f, but I was wondering if any other XH-A1 users can list any advantages of shooting with 60i or 30f. I do like the "film look," which is part of why i use 24f. Most of my work is distributed on DVD and Blu-Ray or the web. I suppose the chance might exist that something would be converted to film in the future, but not likely. Thoughts, ideas?

I have loved shooting in 24f so far while using this camera, just make sure your shutter speed is at 48 (i don't know if this is obvious, i just found it out for myself). I dont know if there is any advantage to shooting at 60i or 30f other than an added ability to create fluent slow motion. That's the best I can do for ya lol.

But hey I am a top 10 finalist in a national quiznos video contest.
I used the Canon XH-A1 to shoot my video. The contest ends tonight at midnight so if you could take a look at my video and maybe throw a vote down if you like it that would be awesome! Here's a link (you also have a chance to win free quiznos for a year!) My video is titled "Special Delivery"

24F is great for the film and if you might speed up the footage.

60i is great if you intend to do slo-mo. You can slow it down pretty good and still maintain quality.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. 24F is the standard for cinema and thus narrative filmwork, but 30F and 60i for event videography like weddings, concerts, and sometimes documentary.

I like 30F for it's semi-film look. Since I need to create slow motion for wedding highlights, 24F is too suttering in slow motion
