Best capture software?

What is the best capture software for capturing DVX footage? Is there any diffrence between different programs? Thanks.
 
I dunno about Mac, but on PC I used to use WinDV. It is insanely small, quick, reliable, and just so much better then running a full editing suite.....and since it's so small and quick it can easily be put on a second older computer, that way you can be doing some editing on your main system while that old paper weight captures your footage.
