Best Camera for Web-Broadcasting

I know there are a bunch of hvx200 vs. xh a1 vs. EX1 threads out there but I'm looking for something a bit more specialized. I'm started a webTV series that will feature interviews with various DJs. I need a camera that can stream in HD and offer a crisp image. I also need a camera that can capture DJ performances in low light settings.

In Canada, Panasonic hasn't introduced the FREE 16gb promo when you buy an HVX so the total package comes up to 6500 tax in. I've contacted B&H and as much as I don't want to cut out Canadian dealers, 6500 vs. 5500 (B&D) makes it clear which one I need to buy.

I've been warned that the A1 has lower quality image because of the 4.2.2 color and to stay away from it since HDV is a middle ground for HD and not the future. I've also been warned that the A1 loses quality when the camera pans.

I've also read several conflicting reviews concerning the HVX in low light settings so that scares me a bit too.

I do NOT need this camera for filming shorts or films. Slow-mo, I couldn't care about I'm just thinking for something that will stream 720i HD beautifully.

My question to you pros is this: when thinking of HD webstreaming, low light need, what camera comes out on top between the three?

I appreciate any sort of response I get from you. Thank you!

Low light & HD is almost a mutually exclusive combination.

Ok, no it's not. But Low-light, HD and Low-cost IS an impossible combination.

And yes, all these cameras are in that low cost bracket.

It sounds like Low-light is a must. (Or is it? can you buy some lighting gear and light properly/enough? Why not?).

If it muct be low light, but SD is enough (and it very well could be, especially if your audience is online), then I'd say get a DVX100/a/b. It's more sensetive, but still provides a progressive image that scales well for the web.

Or if it must be low light and you must have HD, then you might almost need to look into a larger camera like the HPX500. But that is a notable price increase.

P.S. I presume 720i is a typo and you meant 720p?

Mookie, yes I mean 720p not i. I already own the DVX and am looking to upgrade it. I own a strong flash that I mount on top of the DVX that I was planning to use on the HVX (or whatever other camera I get).

I have lighting for low light situations I just want to make sure the flash will do. Normally, in clubs and massive parties, the lighting rigs take care of most lighting I just want to make the camera won't tweak out on me.

Most of the interviews will take place in locations where I can utilize sunlight and/or a my flash... it's just the club scenes I'm worried about.

Thanks for the reply man. :)

I would say HVX or EX1.
I have never tried to film in your environment so its tough to say how much light you are working with.
I would actually say go on the safe side with the 500 or ex1.
I dont know your wallet size either.
