GH4 Best Cage for the GH4 with locking device for it's HDMI connector.

[Harry Pallenberg]

Is the audio port easy to access with the ViewFactor cage? An early prototype they had made it hard to access it without an
adapter plug or cable. Otherwise their cage has a very nice tight fit.

There's another thread right here from Illya at hotrod cameras, he's got something in the works for the GH4.

SmallRig's working on a Wooden Camera-esque cage but it looks to need refining.

Most right-angle plugs will not be able to reach the GH4's mic input when in the Contineo cage. Same goes for the remote jack on the other side of the camera. As a result, you may need to use a 3.5mm adapter cable with a straight plug if your audio devices have right angle plugs (e.g. Rode Videomic Pro, etc.).

D|Focus appears to be shipping the D|Cage for the GH3 & GH4.

While I've a Viewfactor Contineo GH4 cage on the way, here's one from Cinegearpro: http://www.cinegearpro.com/cgpro-gh3-gh4-armour-cage.html - personally I'd like the side handle to be on the other side of the camera as I sometimes accidentally hit FN2, FN3 and DISP buttons or the shutter dial when I grip the camera.

Just waiting for my Shogun (like a lot a people!)
Cage has exceeded my expectations. The HDMI locking port works very well.
Highly recommended.

Next week LockCircle is releasing it's BirdCage for the GH4 & A7s

Not many details yet except a couple photos on their website's front page where it looks like the LCD cannot rotate at all so likely better suited to the A7s.

The photo attached below is from their Facebook page.

Bern, I just checked out the link to lockcircle and noticed that they have a LockPort HDMI protector for the GH4. Have you tried this?
Is it any good? It looks like a good idea.

It looks like a MotionNine Gh4 cage.

I have not.

As Bern said, it looks like the GH4 lockport would inhibit full use of the articulating LCD..

Anyone ordered a Viewfactor Contineo GH4 cage recently? How long did it take to arrive?

[James Carpenter]

Yes. Motion9 cage.

It looks like a MotionNine Gh4 cage.

Here's another vote for the Viewfactor Contineo GH4 cage. Its compact and light but gives unrestricted use of the camera functions.

Joe,

This HDMI clamp looks like it would work with the CAME cage, http://www.coollcd.com/smallrig-hdmi...412_p1412.html has anyone tried it?

My Wooden Camera DSLR Quick Cage, with Juiced Link Riggy RM333, 2 Sony UWP wireless receivers, Rode VideoMic Pro, and Fotodiox 7inch Flapjack LED light.

[mdifilm]

just received this came-tv gh4 rig, very sturdy and really nice, except for the barn door's screw, it can get broken easily (they are sending me a replacement).

I finally decided to buy the CAME Cage and to solve the HDMI lock problem I think this will do the job. http://www.coollcd.com/smallrig-hdmi...412_p1412.html I’ll post pictures after receiving all the parts.
