Best Book For Using Camcorders

A friend is absolutely amazed at the quality of footage from our HVX200, but knows very little about manually setting up a cam.

He wants to buy one, but is coming from a very basic position.

Gain, iris, knee, gain, shutter speed -- knows nothing

I don't have the time to sit down with him, and Barry's Book assumes a basic knowledge.

Anybody have a book that explains this in detail from a beginner's perspective that I could recommend to him?

Thanks

THE COMPLETE DIGITAL VIDEO GUIDE by Bob Brandon (published by Reader's Digest). Full color, lots of descriptive photos... covers all the basics. Very good introduction.

Also, if he uses a Mac at all, the iMovie6 & iDVD - The Missing Manual is good. It also covers the actual shooting of video and is in color.

I second Bob Brandon books/dvd's. I know Bob, and he showed me his books and dvds a month and some ago. The guy is good. He use FCP and Aanother editing program. cant remember.
