GH2 Best and affordable box for getting two XLR signals in GH@, with phantom power?

I guess topic says it all... I want to connect two xlr mike cables to mike input of the GH2 and if possible have phantom power for the mikes. Is anyone already doing this and is noise level at a more acceptable level than it is when connecting the Panasonic on-camera mike to the GH2 (I like this mike by the way but it's noisy and picks up my heavy breathing). Also do boxes with noise gets exist, I would love that. Can someone some good products like Beach-tek etc?

I love my GH2 by the way guys I'm now using it more and more often than my AF101. I'm totaly sure image of the GH2 is sharper. Edit: and colors are better too. So I'm the GH2 whore/fanboy from now.

The Zoom H4N is one of the most compact XLR mic preamps available. And as an added bonus, it can make 24-bit backup recordings of your live audio tracks as well ;)

H4N or DR100

I hated the idea of double system recording, but the upcoming Final Cut Pro X has the audio sync feature.

It's so worth avoiding the sub-optimal DSLR audio circuitry and going double-system. Spend a bit more time in post production and get wayyy better sound to go with your pretty pictures.

I wish someone made a table comparing the options H4N, DR100, DXA-SLR, juicedlink etc. as it pertains to the GH2. It's so hard to figure out what to buy just reading separate posts on this :(

People buy one, and then they are fans (or not), but rarely do folks have experience with all of them so they can make a head to head real life experience comparison. As is, Tom likes H4N (the only one he tried), Bob likes DR100 (the only one he tried) and so on.

Well bottom line is all of these solutions *work*. Nothing's hands down better. More important is mic-ing technique and the quality of your microphones. Also depends if you want to try and force audio into the camera or do it IMHO properly and record it separately.

H4n has 4 channels. DR100 has 2 channels. DR100 has better control layout than H4n. CX231 has no recorder, but its battery lasts much longer than H4n or DR100.

Now... do your homework. Good luck.

Separately. But really what interests me is noise (quite apart from mics) - I'd prefer as good quality as I can get, so I have something to work with in post. Just looking for ideas here... thanks!

Thanks for all the reps. The Zoom is not an option because it has audio-drift (proven!!!!) and the pre-amps are less sensitive than the DR100. Down side of the DR100 is that it eats batteries fast and I want to work cable-free. So that brings me to the cx231 juiced-link I guess. Then I can always use the Zoom as remote back-up device with permanent power.
