Best All-Purpose GH2 hack settings - Upgrading from GH1

I apologize if many others are asking this same question but I've perused the forum and can't figure out which hack settings to use. I'm upgrading from my GH1 to a GH2 and I'd like to hack it. I'm very familiar with all of lpowell's patches for the GH1 but have little knowledge of the GH2. I'd like to have the highest-quality, stable hack settings that allow me to record in 720p60, 1080p24 and 1080p30 if possible. I'd also love to have the 12,800 ISO option that I've heard is available. Is ETC affected by any of the hacks? I've heard of a Driftwood have and of the Flow Motion Patch but I don't know which to use. I'd also like file spanning and in-camera playback to remain funtional once the camera is hacked. The camera should arrive in the mail today so I hope to hack it today or tomorrow. Help!

Also if anyone has recommendations for which film mode(s) yield the highest dynamic range I'd appreciate it. I know that Smooth with Contrast -2 on the GH1 is the best but I don't know about the GH2.

CColton,

You may also want to take a look at Ralph_B's Sanity 5 patch. Very good image quality, extremely small file sizes, works with most good class 10 cards (I've been using both Sandisk 30mbs and Transcend class 10 with no problems.

Spans in 24L and 720 as well...

Worth a peek...

Will do, thank you!

I'm planning on releasing a major update, Flow Motion v2.0, in about a week. This version uses optimized Quantizer Scaling Tables and Deblocking Tables to virtually eliminate the blocky digital artifacts that plague unhacked GH2 videos. It also features a new technique that boosts the bitrate of high detail 24p 80% Slow Motion videos by an extra 25%, in order to handle the higher bandwidth required by 29.97p encoding with no loss in image quality.

I'm excited for this, will it be an update to the current Flow Motion thread or a new thread?

I'll be starting a new thread, but it will be a complete replacement for Flow Motion v1.11. Previous versions of Flow Motion have provided custom Scaling Tables designed to produce P and B-frame image quality comparable to the camera's built-in I-frame image quality. For FM2, I developed completely new Scaling Tables to produce significantly smoother motion quality than the unhacked firmware can manage. I've successfully tested FM2 on flowing water currents that literally cripple the stock firmware, plunging it into the AVCHD encoder's low-quality fallback mode. In that respect, I'm aiming to produce a patch that actually improves the reliability of the camera when filming high-detail, fast action shots.

Thank you for all of your amazing work on this, it's really been fantastic. My clients love the image coming off the camera and most can't believe it when they see the camera itself.
