Best all-around camera around $3K? XF100?

Okay, I'm posting in this forum because what I think I'm looking at is the XF100, but I have no real attachment to Canon. I have a Sony V1U on loan right now. I like it, it's a nice camera, but the low light is terrible and I hate recording to tape. I like the size and weight (3.5 pounds, don't want anything heavier) and overall the features are very good. I basically want an updated version of this camera, but Sony doesn't make one. Is the XF100 my best bet for an "updated V1U"? I need an all-around good camera, I'll end up using it a lot in low light to shoot impromptu interviews, b-roll, etc.--mostly web footage, but we post all of our web footage in HD to the company site. Does anyone have any suggestions to look at besides the XF100?

I don't think I'd miss the two control rings and could get by with an external ND filter (not a fan of electronic filters). What I love about the XF100 specs... very high quality recording, lighter body, supposedly good low light capabilities.

Thanks for any suggestions!!

You are looking at the right one at that price point....there is no other one that has a broadcast codec like the XF100. We have the two biggest reality show producers as clients and they are changing over some of their key shows to XF305s & 105s, in good part due to the codec & workflow on CF cards.
