Best 12' (or so) Jib for the HVX200

Did a search on this but couldn't find a whole lot.

Looking for a new or used Jib for the HVX for some projects I will be working on. I've got a studio area that has a 12' - 4" ceiling, so I'd like to have an arm/tripod that would extend to around 11-12' high off the floor.

Any ideas?

Kessler Cranes I have heard are very nice for the money. Well built and not extremely expensive. I have not, however personally used one.

Bought a Kessler and the kpod....THE BEST! Love it. Built right at a great price. I can't say enough good about it or the company. Call and talk to Eric Kessler, nice guy...or visit the web site...he even gave me a DVXuser discount!

another vote for the kessler products. i have the 8' (they offer an additional 4' extension as well) and it works very well and is super easy to set up.

i use it on a bogen 3193 legs with an old 510 head that sets up to over 5' so add the 8' crane to that and you'll be good to go.

keep in mind that you will NEED a very heavy duty tripod like the one mentioned above ($1200ish) or better to make proper use of a jib. you will ruin a $400 tripod in about a day.

if you plan on doing any zoom or focus control you'll also need a remote control and long extension cable

If you go this route, GET the Kpod.... the thing will take 500 pounds easy. I've never seen a better built tripod.

I also picked up the dolly wheels for it and now have a great dolly crane.

I also own the advanta jib with the 10' reach. It really is nice to be able to pan and tilt smoothly from behind the tripod. Very easy to set up and use. I've had mine for over 2 years, I had one issue out in the field, placed a call - got a call back in 10 minutes and everything was fine! Great customer service.
