on the downside. this file was HUGE i'm having difficulty finding a good formula for encoding to the net with these 7d files.

Workflow :
1. transcode native file to dnxhd with mpeg streamclip
2.Put those file on avhcd 1080 24p timeline and edit in Premiere pro cs4
for this i exported the the uncompressed dnxhd file...and re encoded it to quicktime h264 with mpegstreamclip. File size was a gig!

But thats just a new way i was trying out cuz my other way of exporting (dvx uprezzed footage is looking like crap. for the dvx it looks awesome though) I usually use media enocoder.

Anyone using Cs4 and mpegstream clip wanna help me with exporting for the net for best quality and managable file sizes. since the 7d i havent been able to figure it out...and it messes up otherwise really nice footage.

:) COOL!!! Your focusing was awesome! What lens did you use and how were you carrying/supporting the camera?

I've been using Vegas and export 1080-24p to wmv or h.264 at between 6-8Mbs and the quality is decent and the file sizes are pretty small about 45-60MB per minute. Your clip would have definately been under 100MB and still looked good.
I have no experience with PPro or Media Enc yet. I've been meaning to switch over to CS5 to be better integrated with AE but I just don't have the motivation to learn a new system right now :( But 1GB is def tooooo big for a clip less than 2 minutes. I encoded a 25min short once and ran it at 720p 5Mbps to keep it under 1GB and it still looked great, so it's definately possible. Keep playing and if I start using CS5 sooner than later I'll let you know what I find.

Thanks for checking it out.
Thee lens was tamron 17-55 2.8 VC @2.8 set to 50mm. Shot handheld, with the canon neckstrap held taut around my neck. I get pretty stable shots like that, with the VC on.
