Bechdel test for women in film

That's exactly what Invasion of the Body Snatchers was, made in 1956.
But that was five years after THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD. Can you think of a movie before 1951 that used that concept?

Count Orloff in Nosferatu may not have looked very human, but all of his successor cinema vampires do, which gives us human-looking cinema monsters back as far as the 1930s.
Sure, but how many in the post-WWII era?

Sorry, I couldn't post this all in a one liner.

from the clip said:
When I call it a systemic problem what I mean by this is that it's not just a few people here and there that don't like women or don't wnat womans stories told but that
the entire industry is built upon creating films and movies that cater to
and that are about men.

Demographics 101?

It's also been awhile since I've seen a nice romantic womans xbox game for that matter.Huh.

And I'm not trolling here, but...
I'm not sure how race got into it but I guess woman would fall into a minority along with everyone else that isn't a white European male.
But honestly that's pushing it.White Arabs would be a minority too? And I suppose Jews maybe?
Oooookay. Enough of that nonsense.

Granted, holywood (Spelled correctly) driven movies are most often than not just ridiculous.

From the posters of some current movies I've listed below I counted a few females. a few blacks, no orientals (google Toho),
not sure who was gay, no eastern indians, western indians I don't think, no arabs maybe, a couple jews,
no eskimos, maybe a Dutchman and a German or two, no ect... I mean c'mon, gimme a poo pooing break.

I personally couldn't care what race any of the characters are. Seriously.
Sigourney Weaver in Aliens. Fkin A but not becuase she's a woman, but because she's Fkin' A.
And I'm not going to pick out who may favorite black actors are because then I have to pick out who my favorite white actors are,
and that's just getting stupid. And even then I 'd have to break those groups into male, female and gay.
F'n stupid man. Actors, that's IT. Or maybe old school, actors and actresses. Hehe.

If Hollywood has a racial problem in casting then it's too bad on their part.
And it is. I've always thought those crack heads (I'm sorry, cocaine a.k.a 'coke' heads) were out of touch with reality.
Imo, it's not the audience that has any problem whatsoever with casting, it's the casters and the industry I guess in that neck of the woods, and I can't tell you why.

So in that respect, yeah, it's still a bit of a shameful mess.
Then again so are many of the industry big shots, but not all of course.
It's a shame but there still are a few good movies out there.

Here's some off the first page of an internet site. Mostly 2009.2010. Some sound like woman's movies.
Most sound like junk with no offense to the makers as I haven't seen but a couple of these.

In the developed world, women are in the majority, and men are a statistical minority.

Oooookay. Enough of that nonsense.

And nonsense it is; 'race' is a nonsensical concept that people reach for, when what they're really describing is simply phenotype.

Are you guys serious or is this some US joke I don't get? Nobody mentioned the red shirts in Star Trek - now that really is discrimination!

Yes, and the big hook is they're more willing to spend money so a lot of things are targeted at them, television mainly. Also horror films, because it seems the majority of horror fans are women. Sci-Fi and comic films are somewhat new to women but the younger women are indeed taking to them. I mean women are even invading the comic shops, which is cool.

That's a little hard to digest.

If they could work their way into children's television a little more I'd be a little happier.
Not that I watch those things, but knowing that kids are watching the likes of Sponge Bob and the likes at very young ages makes me wonder about what childhood memories these kids are going to have. It seems a little f'd.
A couple shows are okay but yeah, maybe a few more woman involved in these things would be nice.

In the same sense that would you prefer a female babysitter or a male?
Females by nature are more nurturing and so with a childrens show I would think female writers would be the way to go. Sponge Bob? I'd hazard to guess males write that? What a pile of crapola. Jeeeeez.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with "Banana Splits". Todays kids get the Power Rangers which are a bit more fun. Anyone remember "Tenessee Tuxedo" or "Bullwinkle" or what about "The Great Space Coaster" (was that the show with Gary Gunu)? I know Underdog is still known.

Rocky and His Friends (Bullwinkle) had some really good writing. I think some of the jokes went over the kiddies' heads.

OMG! I was going to mention Super Chicken and "George". Super Chicken was such an @$$. But "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it!" cracked me up everytime. Was Super Chicken part of "George of the Jungle" which had "Tom Slick?" also right? Or was Super Chicken it's own show?
