"Beauty in the Evening" - A brief little video with timelapses and tiltshifts

Hey guys,

I made this a few weeks back with my Hmc to try and dissuade me from selling it and picking up a 7D lol. It worked for me. Thanks to After Effects for the "tiltshift effect" and a very chill little spot where I go to think, this video was born. Enjoy and as always comments are appreciated! :dankk2:

Loved the colors and image quality... nice and clean. Care to share your scene settings and what kind of color grading you used (I'm assuming you used some...)?? Thanks!

Thanks very much Lee! My scene files were as follows:

Dtl Lvl: +2
V Dtl: +2
Dtl Coring: +4
Master Ped: -20
A. Iris: +2
Cine-like V
Cine-like Matrix

And I actually didn't do any major colour grading. I bumped the contrast up on some shots, and the two still shots under the bridge had a Grey tint just to bring down some of the orange from the sunset that negatively affected the colours. Otherwise, everything was done in camera.

Nice work. Finding beauty in things that most people just drive by (like we see them doing). Thanks for sharing your settings. Would you elaborate on how you achieved your time-lapse? Just a speed change in FCP?

Thanks very much guys! I haven't been on in a few days so excuse my late reply.

@akaBT Exactly, I recorded it at 24p and sped it up in post (actually in Adobe Premiere but its the same thing)

I'm really glad I got to throw this together when I did. Not even 2 weeks later, all that construction had been to extend that bridge section. So basically, this is the last footage of that spot that we'll ever see. And sadly I lost my chill place :(

Really enjoyable to watch. Yeah, I hate it when "progress" nukes some of our favorite places!

Did you use marks for your rack focusing? I've found, with the 150, the focus ring remains surprisingly accurate, much unlike my old XL-1.

Lol I know. Stupid selfish commuters. Now where do I go on the weekends?

To be honest, I don't know what marks are. I just play with focus until I get it and hopefully I'm recording when I do.
