Beatbox video

Wow. Really amazing. One of the few videos from this site that I will save for myself.

If I end up buying this camera it will be because of what you have shown here.

Well done.

(you should get commission from Canon)

Too awesome. Watched it on my 30'' full screened the second time. Great work.

That was an incredible video... damn i have to build myself a dolly!

I still can not believe how similar the footage from my A1 and everybody else's looks so similar to super 16, it is really incredible.

Also, what did you use for the fill on the talents face when the window was behind him?

Thanks. The fill was achieved by bouncing the sunlight with a one large styro foam sheet. A large HMI light would have given better results but we didn't have the time and the money.

niiiiiiice!
could definately be a hip sneaker commercial or something. take that to any potential clients.
dope.

amazingly done man,
now to my LIST of Questions,
01) Can you please post images of the raw fottage and after correction on AE.
02) I saw on the image you posted that you have an adapter, How are you managing the flip mode while on th A1 the lcd doesn't flip !!!
03) How long did it take you to Shoot / Edit ...
04) Was that recorded sound on location !!
Thanks man !!

Thanks again guys!

Amr Toukhy:

01) I'm afraid that I don't have the raw footage on my hard disk right now but I'll try to work out something.
02) Yes you're correct that I have an adapter but I didn't use it on this project, just the stock A1 lens, so no problems with flipping the image. Normally I use an external monitor with adapters.
03) We shot this piece in about 2 hours. We had to shoot the footbag video same day so we were in hurry. We had just a two man crew, me shooting and my friend editing it all together.
04) None of the sounds were recorded on location. I recorded the ambience and footsteps in old factory hall near my home. Actually the footsteps belong to my 13-old little sister :D:D So the sound was all done in post.

Hope this helps!

First up excellent work, truly brilliant. I have 2 questions that I am dying to know

1) what did you use to capture the raw footage, (hardware, software etc)?
2) And what NLE and codec?

Thanks again for posting that great footage!

Thanks,

1) I captured with Cineform Aspect HD intermediate codec.
2) The whole thing was cut together in Avid using Avid dnxhd codec (not the smartest move because we had to recompress the cineform files for the Avid friendly format :( - next time will try an uncompressed workflow!)
