beachtek adapter and agc

On the Canon 7D... can you monitor audio levels (as opposed to automated gain) with a beachtek adapter? Say, the DXA-5Da passive adapter? I heard somewhere on here that it's possible.

let me clarify... i understand the beachtek or juicedlink 'spoofs' the agc, but does it allow level control while the agc is in use? In other words, does it completely turn off the agc or do you still have to compromise and manually control it? If you're reading, respond!

it will set the agc at a constant lower level but cannot be adjusted. You can adjust the volume of the mic or line inputs. Since the DXA-5Da doesn't have a preamp you will probably leave the mic input at 100% anyways. You can monitor the output of the DXA-5Da but not the 7D.

Actually that last statement may not be true...I've never tried it to tell you the truth.
