Beach Camera Review - XH-A1 $3,349

Just wanted to say I had a very pleasant transaction with Beach Camera on my new A1. Everything looks/works great and is fully marked with US Canon labeling. No annoying phone calls or anything like that. I haven't sent in my rebate yet but I had no problem getting my Canon rebate with my 30D (also purchased through Beach).

I have noticed that they change their pricing rather sporadically - I just waited till they brought back the $3,349 price and ordered then.

So far I'm quite impressed with the results I'm getting from this camera! Glad to join the group!

Ditto, I grabbed one just before the price hied up again (a few weeks ago). A very good experience for a rather sketchy looking website... but the reviews hold up, it's no ExpressCamera, that's for sure.

Beachcamera is a real store. I live in NJ and I've bought 2-3 camcorders in person at the store. I think their sister site is buydig? If you watch if prices change, so does buydig, b/c they honor that price if you go in person the store. Good to hear two people who have bought from them.

Yeah, Beach Camera and buydig are related. I've bought from both of them recently and in the past and have had no problems. They are very thorough and efficient, even though I got a bit of a sell-job (from Beach) on supposed 10 hour batteries when I bought my A1 a little while ago.

I can vouch for buydig. I bought my GS400 from them two years ago and it went off without a hitch. No big pressure to buy accessories and it arrived at my home in Canada in 5 days which was about half the time they said it would take. Everything was in perfect condition so I can say I recommend them. Now I'm considering getting an A-1 or HVX from them as well.

So how is the rebate coming on? Is it valid with canon?

I think it should , because I check they on the Canon website, and it states that they are an Authorised Canon Dealer (Beach Camera).

But i just need to make sure it does...

Yes, I got my rebate back from Canon.
I purchased my camera from Beach Camera.
I had an excellent experience with them.

I haven't received my check yet - but did get an email from Canon saying they were processings it. I'm assuming it should arrive soon with no problems.

Beachcamera seems pretty nice though. I just checked out their website. Does the rebate come in an email? My buddy just bought through there and got an email with something about the rebate. Anyway, he just ordered yesterday. Anyone have any idea of when it might ship? Does it typically take a few days? I think (pretty sure though) that he did the 3-4 day shipping. Who knows. Thanks all.

Does the rebate come in an email?

Usually (With DSLR equipment anyway, we don't get camcorder rebates in Europe >_<) you have to fill out and print a form from Canon's website and mail it along with the barcode from the box to a company that handles rebates for Canon. 4-6 weeks later you recieve a cheque.
