Bayonet mount - not lenses.

Seems this camera is being designed and built with a very sturdy steel base, which perhaps could serve well as a blunt weapon if a documentary film maker finds themselves cornered by wildlife, or would-be kidnappers.

How about a quick release bayonet mount. Something along the lines of what you find below the barrel on the Lee Enfield rifle:

Seems like a fantastic deterrent against those jerks who shove open palms into lenses and yell 'No filming!'

Isn't it interesting that bayonets mount on a sliding, pin-locked mechanism, but the lens mount system refers to how one uses a bayonet?

Yikes, I hadn't considered the other side. I generally try to be quite polite about crowding someone with a camera - one of the big reasons I got out of photojournalism. Too many guys (and gals!) elbowing each other in a tiny space, jostling for the same shot, disrupting their subjects and just being... unpleasant.

Actually you're onto something great - imagine if you had to have a yard stick mounted under the camera... or to get a paparazzi license you had to have one of those orange flags you put on a child's bicycle taped to your back.

I dig it!

Exactly. And i do see both sides of this coin. Within reason and in public circumstance a camera is gonna get ya' but I detest papparazzi as well as the ENG bastids who block people from walking and stand on their front steps and block their cars from leaving ....

Absurd. I'd definately go Sean Penn on them.

A laser finder that sounds upon too close.

LMAO!
