GH2 Battery vs Memory Card

Hello.

If the GH2 runs out of battery while recording will the footage on the memory card be corrupted or will it be just fine?
It would especially suck if you were doing a long continuous take and the battery died causing you to lose that take.
Anyone with experience with this?
Or am I just worrying about a non-issue?

I think it depends. I had once the camera started beeping (not fun in a concert) as a low battery alarm but the footage was there. If the battery runs down too fast I suppose it could crash, and you might lose the footage.

Well I was hoping to use this 3rd party battery but the catch is that the battery bar is not displayed on the camera.
So you dont know when the battery will die...

I just ordered the Panasonic DMW DCC8 DC Coupler for my GH2 from Amazon (B& H are currently out). With a simple AC Adapter from Radio Shack, you won't have to worry about battery power, that is if your static and near AC Power.

Yeah that last part of the eqution is what isn't dependable out here. AC power cannot be depended on here in Jamaica. Not at all.
Thats why I asked my question of losing the footage.

The only time I had a shut down happen with an empty Panasonic battery, the clip that was recording was still there up to the time of shut off. But the only way to really know is to test it, and if it does corrupt your last take, don't use it in those circumstances.

You might want to consider our solution for the long shoots. The LED indicator gives you the battery state of charge indication in 4 steps.

Hmmm i've been considering this for a while since you posted this solution in another thread.
How exactly do those mounting brackets work? I want to be able to keep as small a profile as possible.
Is a shoe mount option available for mounting? One that still allows the use of the EVF?
