battery question

I couldnt find this in the DVX archives, and it seems like it may have an easy answer, What is the switch on the bottom of the Panasonic battery for? It's on my 1600mAh and my 2800mAh Panasonic batteries.

Thanks

-Matt-

If you do a search you'll find that its a self-destruct sequence initiator. And, in addition to that, the switch doesn't do anything. It's simply a switch that you manually flick on or off as a reminder as to whether or not the battery is charged.

Your answer is remarkably similar to the one you get when you go to search for "battery switch", and get this thread as a result of that search.:lipsrseal

Learn to do a simple search Matt.

In order to find out what the switch is for, you must first connect electrodes to you testicales. naturally, it's recommended you shave them first and then caress them with rubbing alcohol.

if you complete the above successfully, then a frontal labotomy strongly recommended. Once you have that, the purpose of the switch will no longer matter.

pookie, You have been kind to me in the past in answering questions I have had, but I would appreciate it if you didnt talk to me in such a demeaning way. It is really not neccessary, and very unproffesional as well as childish that you attempt to make me out as an uncaring, unsophisticated newbie. And, yes, I did do a search through old threads, although, I did not happen to use the exact keywords you listed above. Thank you rim7189 for answering my question. I hope there could be a change in the amount of sarcasim that are on these boards, even if I may have asked a simple question, or conducted a search and found no results on a subject that was covered.

Panasonic CGP-D28 - Panasonic 2800mAh Switch - Panasonic Battery Switch - I did not consider the keywords "battery switch", it seemed too simple as I must have unconsciously thought of more specific keywords. I was mistaken, and I understand that. Don’t misunderstand pookie, I am not questioning weather or not I typed in the correct key words for a search. It shouldn’t matter If I happened to have typed in the keywords "battery switch" or not. If I had accidentally passed the thread, and figured that someone could easily, with a few sentences answer my question or re-direct me to the thread should not be a problem. If you are irritated that I did not find the thread in my search, then do not respond to my post in such a hostile manner or at all. Id rather you spare me the insult and have some one politely answer my question, or redirect me to a previous thread. If it was a previous thread, I will apologize for inconveniencing that person for a thread I was unable to find or missed. Pookie, I don’t want you to think I am being hostile towards you right now, I was just irritated with the manner in which you responded to a question that was neither hard to answer or ridiculous.

Jesus, what a whiner. Get over your sensitive little ego & go shoot something. Be happy you got your answer & say Thank You Pookie.

Nothing much funnier than a whiner who is a good typer. On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On &On & On & On .........

It seems to me that Pookie's responses are often demeaning. The goal of these forums should be support, not a way to deal with own's insecurities. Pookie please deal with your issues elsewhere.

aussie, thank you, I was trying to point that out, for some reason I decided to make it in very complex statments. and pookie, in response, thank you for giving me the thread for my question..........and I just finished my 3 day shoot today.

The problem is that pookie has 3140 posts. That means he has answered the same 10 questions 314 times each. It makes a guy irritable. I would presribe a vacation, but he would have to go to a halfway house.

FWIW, someone once told me when you go ask for help (anywhere, not just on community boards), tell people what you have already done. Something like "I tried searching under x and y and x-y, but did not find what I was looking for..." When I do that I get immediately useful answers, instead of having to spend 3-4 posts just narrowing down the question. It should be a rule here....

Demeaning? C'mon guys.
As you can see - I have very few posts - but I *do* have a fairly thorough understand of board ethics - as I participate on many across my hobbies/arts.
One is to read up. I know in just reading over the last couple months, that I have come across this same thread and read what that sweet little switch does.
Second in the search tool. It works.
Third is to read your manual. Especially on something such as "what does this switch do" or "what does that sound mean", etc. You'd have to be pretty imaginative to think you're the first one who wondered what a switch did that is on most batteries out there.

And 4th - Prepare to be bombarded with sarcasm and intolerance if you chose to ignore the tools you are given, and decide to clutter the board with your "unique" question.

Throwing rocks at board veterans is a quick way to find yourself unwelcomed.

This is how *all* boards I have been apart of have functioned.

LOL, well put

unfortunatley, facetospencer, I don't believe you read this thread from the beginning, otherwise you would realize that you are not making a valid argument. Also if you read up on your DVX manual(which is the first place I looked) you will see that there is no explanation, so the second choice is a message board with knowledgable people.
