Battery models???

I'm ordering a HMC150 this week and was going to order additional batteries.
I have several DVX100 batteries (5400 mAh) but after going to B&H site and pany site I can't determine / find out if these batts will work on a HMC150.

Anyone use DVX100 batts on a hmc 150? wrong model?

No, they won't work. HPX170, HVX200, DVX-100, and most of their cameras use the old batteries.

The newer batteries, which read-out how many minutes of juice are left, are required for the AVCCAM cameras, including the HMC-150, HMC-40, the new AF-100, and I'm assuming the HMC-70 and 80.

Neither batteries are interchangeable between each other. In other words, they're neither backward-compatible nor forward-compatible.

Well I confess I don't recall seeing it in the spec sheet, but I was reading a discussion recently regarding reliability of the SD cards vs P2. Barry Green said he let a battery die in an HMC-150 and the footage was fine, but if it was plugged into power and the power was suddenly cut, the recording was corrupted. The reason is that AVCHD needs to have a reliable power source to record, because a sudden power drop destroys the current recording. That's why Panasonic developed the new batteries for the AVCCAM cameras, with minute-by-minute time readouts. So that's why I'm assuming the new AF-100 uses the new batteries, too.
