GH2 Battery life

How long should the GH2 battery last, the one supplied with my GH2 purchased at the start of the year suddenly seems to be giving up,its not my only one i have a spare,my GH2 is a fun cam used for private video so does not get used like wedding cameras, all the batteries on camcorders i have had lasted for years.

That refers to laptops though,i know in the old days cam batteries had to be fully discharged before recharge but they were a different type then.

People have mixed experiences with generic batteries. I for one vouch never to use them again after one burned my 7D. I don't think it's worth the risk personally.
