Battery for AF-100 and Nanoflash.

Approx. 95 minutes. I will check the others. Still, that's fantastic. Btw, I tested batteries with the LCD screen open, for me, this real world.
Not disappointed with this at all!!

If you have SDI output on, or the LCD open, or both the LCD and VF enabled at the same time, or phantom power on, any or all of those can affect your battery duration. The longest runtime will of course come from shutting the LCD, turning phantom power off, and turning SDI output to off.

I got this battery and I have one of the "straight" cables, so I'm waiting for my 90-degree replacement from Alex. But seriously, unless the battery ends up with some unforeseen short lifespan or something, I really can't see why anyone would want any other battery than this. It's as big as the Panasonic, it's much less expensive, it has the power gauge right on it which is very nice, and the power output for driving the Nano is just genius (and apparently it might even have enough oomph to drive a small monitor instead of a Nano, for those who want on-camera monitoring, so maybe something like a Cineroid could be powered all by this one battery).

Only thing that could make it better (and Alex, you might want to consider this) would be some sort of power switch on the cable. As is, if the cable's plugged in, the Nano is on -- whether the camera is or not. And that's not all that great. But if the cable could have a sliding power switch to turn the Nano on/off, that might make the whole thing ideal. It's pretty ideal as-is anyway, but that would be a little icing on the cake.

Dear Barry,

You can go into the nanoFlashes menu to automatically put the nanoFlash into a very low power mode if the camera is turned off.

System|Power Saving|Auto Sleep to checked. (Version 1.6.248, our current release).

I used a fully charged two-cell Lithium-Ion battery, our smallest, just to power a nanoFlash in Power Save mode.

I gave up the test after four days.

In Power Save Mode (camera off, or no HD-SDI input when set to HD-SDI in System|Source), then the power draw is very low, < 0.3 watts.

Thus, you can power up the nanoFlash at the start of the day, then power on an power off your camera at will.

With the Swit Battery, this 0.3 watts is also insignificant.

Ah, I haven't updated the firmware recently. In the version I have, the "power save" menu option is there but you can't select it. I'll update. Thanks! Convergent customer support is indeed superb.

Would just like to mention the fantastic service I received from Alex at Dolgin Engineering. I ordered 4 of the Switt batteries with NanoFlash cables. Three of the batts worked fine but the forth wouldn't talk to either of my AF-102s so even though I had full power the camera would shut down (still power the NF)
Alex immediately got onto Switt who FedEx'd a replacement battery half way around the world (I'm in Australia) and we got on with our two camera shoot.

If camera & NanoFlash are left on constantly we are getting about 1h 40min run time out of each battery - they do seem to take longer to charge up than the Panasonic ones.

Thank you Barry for your support.

I actually just came up with a bracket for the KiProMini and a power solution as well.

I understand that it takes a 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug. You need to reconfirm, and also if it needs to be a right angle plug or straight. We can make a cable for you similar to this.
