Does the charger always show green when charging? The reason I'm asking is when I first put the battery in the GH4, it gave a message saying it would not work with the battery. Should it onliy show green when it's fully charged?

Inexplicable but true. Seems all Panasonic chargers behave the same.

I'm not a fan of chargers with cables, especially when traveling, so swapped out mine for inexpensive 3rd party versions & so far they've never failed me.

I think these days it's anything coming out of Japan that's like that. Some sort of new law about lights on equipment that's on standby.

I specially found a short cable for travelling. I often find hotel plugs are often above desks and such like which can make getting the charger to fit impossible.

Agreed. I think they most probably did that because the camera is more a "world cam" and makes the adapter cheaper for them (only need to add a different cable.) The other advantage of the Watson is that it also allows for charging a cell phone via an included USB port, although I haven't tried that yet. Thanks for reminding me to give it a try.

Where did you find the short cable? I've got a couple pigtails for other chargers & could always use more.

I travel regularly & too often hotel's AC outlets are in the worst places so carry a short extension cord, & cube taps, in my luggage.

In addition to the lack of a cord I also purchased the Watson compact chargers for the interchangable battery plates & USB port. I often have to charge numerous types of batteries & it's typically easier to transport multiple face plates then multiple dedicated chargers.

I've seen chargers that look identical to the Watson so wonder who's the OEM.
