Battery and DC Power Question

cant figure out why the DVX100b shows battery indicator low when plugged into DC power.

also it seems like when battery is low and i go for new one, the old indicator reading remains.

am i missing something in settings? this is stupid or I am. if i don't have a consistent REAL power reading and battery says charge is going, then i am SOL.

give me some advice.

Hey Tin Man, Can you power your camera with a different power source, to see if your current "battery system" is defective.

The voltage indicator is really a simple voltmeter. It would show low if the voltage coming from what ever DC source you are using is around 7V-7.4V. Nothing is wrong, as anywhere between 6.6V and 8.4V is OK as far as your camera requirements.

don't think both solutions explain it. i have plugged it into house power with DC adapter and still the voltmeter reads the same as when i pulled the battery off. i have fully charged my battery and when installed it gives me the same reading.

i have turned the camera power on and off to see if it will reset, and nothing. don't think the camera is defective, just something i am missing.

thanks for the replies anyway.

Thats why I asked if you could power with something unrelated to the panasonic DC adapter and its supplied battery. Id like to eliminate any possibility its related to these two power sources. Possibly a rogue 6.6v-8.4v power supply. I bought one myself for connecting to the autombile's cigarette lighter.
