Couple questions about the HMC150's battery.

Are there any other panny camera model's that have interchangeable batteries with the HMC150?

Any off brands available? I couldn't find any...

Any solutions for travel/cigarette lighter chargers?

Anyone seen these piggy back chargers? http://store.batteryspecialists.com/bli307pba.html

Coming from Sony, I've had a lot of luck with off brand batteries and chargers... Thanks!

Same batteries as the DVX and HPX handheld line. So common and readily available. You can try the Homegrown special DVXUser batteries. They are great. I have 2, and the perform admirably. $79 for 5800mA/h if I recall. (Search this site for them). You can also check out Swit batteries. .................... I stand corrected... where did I get this silly idea from? Nevermind the above!

As for charging on the road. Get and inverter for your car. Simplest and cheapest method. And it allows you to plug in other stuff too, like you're laptop.

No you are wrong. The 150 has its own "smart" battery. The DVX/HVX batteries will not work in the 150.

Panasonic is the only manufacturer of the 150's battery.

Wow that is news to me.

The DVX batteries only work with the HVX200a and HPX170 from what I understand. Panasonic | CGR-D54 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack | CGAD54SE/1B | B&H

The HMC 150 uses these bad boys Panasonic | VW-VBG6PPK | VWVBG6PPK | B&H Photo Video

According to the feature tab at BH, the HMC 150 battery will work with all Panasonic camcorders, but I have my doubts about that since I've never actually tried it with other camcorders.

Yep... researched... and still don't know where I got this silly idea...

So.... what's so special about this pack?

Thanks guys, I was wondering why I cant find many options...

you need a pure sin wave inverter for laptops and the charger..

I have a little 2 plug ac adapter now that I think about it, but you are having alot of extra crap when you go from 12v to 120v then back to 12v or less. Whats with the pure sin wave inverter?

I canceled my order and received this email from them

"he mah rating may or may not be an error on our site although I am inclined to think that it is correct since we have sold so many of those batteries. If your manual indicates that model number is compatible with your camera, than you ordered the correct one. Panasonic has a unique model number for each battery. You can not have the same model number have two different specs when it is the Panasonic brand."
