Batman goes Nutzoid!

But whatever, dude's a movie star so that gives him carte blanche to act however he wants.
He could be replaced immediately, (after this picture) and it wouldn't make a bit of difference .... all crew should refuse to work with the overpaid asshole. He's probably under a lot of stress because he knows he's an overpaid asshole. If he was a "Pro", he wouldn't be so easily distracted ... he's a phony.

I love when coked-out Dewey Cox goes flippin' INSANE on his band after they play the "punk" version of "Walk Hard!" LOL!

Maybe if he was shooting the reader , slumdog millionaire , forest gump but
T4 are you serious these movies never reach an emotional level period .

The AD said in defense of Bale that they were in the middle of the most intense, emotional scene of the film..and hey, Linda Hamilton had some pretty intense scenes in T2. Anyway, no actor worth his salt is going to say, oh, it's just an action movie so I don't have to invest as much into my emotions this time. From an actors standpoint there should be as much emotional commitment to shooting Schindler's List as there is to Turner & Hooch. I actually think it's more likely in a film like T4 because there is more physical intensity with the running and shouting and explosions and your adrenalin running high all the time.

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/39984 Except, you want to hear the REALITY behind that clip?
I know this because I happen to be somewhere where someone that was there that day and for the shoot is. And this person isn't a publicist, nor are they invested in Bale's career. They're just someone that thinks it is absolute bullshi* that this moment in Bale's life is being aired and that the real story should get out there.
The DP on TERMINATOR SALVATION, Shane Hurlbut, is a apparently a light tweaker. He's a fairly young DP and likes to fiddle with his lights on set during action, which is a big "NO NO" on most productions unless worked out in advance with performers. But apparently Shane was a pretty unrepentant light tweaker.
The scene in question, was a very emotional and tough scene between Christian Bale and Bryce Howard. A scene that required soul bearing and a deep level of immersive concentration. The sort of scene where everyone on set knows not to get in anyone's eye lines, and definitely not to move lights around while FILMING. You lock that shi* down before the scene starts.
Bale had indeed warned the DP on multiple occasions about messing with lights while the cameras were rolling, and Bale was in the midst of a painful scene with Bryce, what was described to me as being the emotional center of the film and his character for the film.
Now, the reason I know all of this is because the person that was there, felt that it should be made perfectly clear that Christian Bale was the utmost gentleman and cool guy on set. And the DP really was doing something that professional DPs with experience just don't do. Not during a performance.
You don't need me to give you a link, it's all over the internet, I just felt that you should know what really went down - and that this particular outburst did indeed modify the DP's behavior - and for future DPs. poo poo with the lights before and after your actors are acting. Not during.

If this is true, then I'd have to side with Christian Bale. If a real director had been making Terminator Salvation, they would have put the clampdown on the DP long before it got to this point. But, then, McG couldn't really be called a real director. He is a joke who makes Michael Bay look like Sam Peckinpah in comparison.

This is pretty dumb...Now the rest of there shoot is most likely ruined. The DP won't wanna be there, nor will the director. What about Bale? Will he be able to continue?

I don't think anything like this should happen on set, not a nice environment to work.

Sure it was someone's fault, but it's no right to burst at you like that. In any work place, you'd most likely get fired.

The shoot was over a long time ago. This happened the middle of summer. It's only leaked now because the insurance company held onto the tape as evidence in case Bale walked off the set.

No. Professionals shrug this sort of thing off, put bygones where they belong, and move on.

Amateurs stomp off in a huff and cold-shoulder their coworkers, or - much better - just quit and don't come back.

Production is stressful, and people who can't or won't take that into account and cut their crewmates some slack have no business on a working set. Particularly people who provoke their team mates by doing foolish distracting stuff during takes.

I don't know what's in the water in Suriname, but I'm coming down to drink some.

You put the levity in this thread. Awesome.

Rise of the what you mah call it, indeed.

I don't know if anyone got it, but my thread title was inspired by this Troma classic--
fat-guy-goes-nutzoid.jpg

I guess I should've put BAT GUY GOES NUTZOID!

"You dick!"

I'd like to see him pull this stunt with Scorsese at the helm.

Guy acts like he solving world peace.

Ha

IMagine him pulling this with Cameron on A Terminator film. That'd be epic.

If a DP walked into the middle of a take on a Cameron film, I think James would be the one delivering the tongue lashing! He doesn't suffer fools either.

working on the Oscars reel, i'm seeing all kinds of behind the scenes on Aliens because Stan Winston died last year. and *MAN* Cameron is a D-I-C-K-H-E-A-D to people. belitting crewmembers left and right. everyone has a story about JC's...er, lack of patience with them.
