Hey guys,

I am wondering if anyone can tell me which tool they use to covert batches of 5D clips to Pro-res....?
I've used 'M-peg Streamclip' but it only lets me do one at a time unless i want them all as one clip....
Is there a fast a reliable way to do it...?

Thanks very much!

Tom

Thanks Michael!!

It did seem really stupid not to have a batch mode but i guess i didn't look hard enough... :( Only converted a few clips though...

Thanks again

Tom

I use mpegstreamclip and it is always separate tracks. Also, though not technically a batch convert, you can use QTpro to connvert about 20 clips at a time.

Compressor of course! Just drop your stuff in, hit go, and fire up batch monitor. You can even configure your different cores to act as a cluster, assuming you have 4 or more.

I use the FCP plug in and convert to ProRess 422. The plug in originally was set for 4444. I am interested by this 5DtoRGB program, although not having a batch feature makes it not worth the time for my current projects. By the time I shoot, edit, and head to color/cgi for my upcoming feature I hope the program makes itself more practical.

There is a script which has been written while we are waiting for the batch function to happen:

If you're using FCP why not just use compressor?
