Hey guys,
I plan to do the following steps to offload my P2 cards for a wedding tomorrow. I am bringing a PC laptop with me to do, but am having a minor issue... When I put the P2 card in the laptop and then click on "My Computer" I do not see the P2 card? So, what program do I download to be able to see the contents and lastfile.txt folders so that I can use this workflow:
Personally, I don't like using P2CMS. Here's my workflow (which does not involve P2CMS at all):
1. Remove P2 from camera and Insert it into the pccard (pcmcia) slot in a PC machine.
2. Copy entire contents of P2 card from the P2 card into a new destination folder on the external drive (copy and paste).
3. Disconnect the external drive from the PC and hook it up to the Mac.
4. Start FCP, and choose the correct codec.
5. Save the FCP project (if it hasn't already been saved), in order to give it a proper name for the purposes of capture scratch.
6. Go into Log & Transfer, tell FCP where the folder is that you want to import, and import all clips (or parts of the clips you want).
