Hello everybody, this is my first post on dvxuser!
I am in the process of buying equipment for a project and could use some advice. I want to create videos with older folks in my town reminiscing as I show them old photographs on a television in my living room. My living room is 15ft square. The television is centered and against one wall. Approx. 6 to 10 subjects will be seated around the room in sort of a semi-circular fashion. I want everybody to feel relaxed and feel free to move around so I thought an unobtrusive boundary microphone would be ideal for my needs. I will record the video on a Panasonic GH1 and a Canon s95 and the audio on a Tascam dr100 mk II. (everything will be combined using Final Cut Pro X).
The microphone I am considering is a Bartlett Microphones Floor Recording Microphone. You can see specs and hear samples at this link:

The owner of the company developed Crown's line of microphones including the PCCTM-160, you can read about the owners here:

I am wondering if anybody here on the board has had experience with the Bartlett Floor Recording microphone. This sounds like a great microphone from a reputable company but at $249 I am wondering if this is overkill for my purposes. The audio for my project is actually more important than the video so I am willing to spend a little more for higher quality audio. I just don't want to spend money unwisely.
