Barry thanks. I've been saying that I will pick up your book and DVD for the longest. I'm the walk-in, here is my money, give me the product-type-of-guy, so I will make the trip to Hello World Communications in Manhattan. Just one question. Am I losing any tips/features/abilities having the original DVX100 and not the 100A?

Are you losing features by having the 100 instead of the 100A? Sure -- there were many changes made to the 100A, about 26 changes. Some were a lot more significant than others (like the addition of Squeeze mode, closer focus capability, etc). The DVX100 is still an incredibly capable camera (I still have an original DVX100) but the 100A has several features that the 100 doesn't.

I'm sending one to Germany today -- I presume that's your order?

The USPS Global Priority Mail service claims 3-5 days, but that doesn't necessarily include time to clear customs or any other delays that may occur from the German post office. They'll deliver it to Germany in 3-5 days. I've had customers from the UK report receiving theirs in as little as 3 days, so it may be there by the end of this week.

Thanks!

Well my order was just before I wrote the message, so I suppose not, but tomorrow!!!
Can not wait!!!

Thanks mate!

Yep, I have received mine in exactly 3 days.

Thanks Barry. I picked it up and the dvd is awesome. I haven't read the book yet but intend to this weekend. The models are also very well spoken not forgetting they are attractive. Great job!!!!

close up on DVD

close up on DVD

On the DVD that comes with the book is there any chance that the DP would remember the settings that were used on the DVX during the close-up of the lady when compared with the Hi-Def camera??? Those settings may be the ones I'm looking to use on a Doc I'll be shooting.

That was all shot on a DVX100, and usually with stock F5 or F6 settings... I don't recall exactly what we used. I may have dropped the master pedestal a bit. But it's been nearly a year since we shot that, so no, I don't recall exactly what we did there.

Is there a distributer for the book here in Great Britain? If I was to buy direct from the US, I would have to pay a hefty import tax..

Darkglobe,

You won't have to pay any import tax. I have ordered mine, and received it without any problem.
Just contact Barry directly and send him the money via Western Union.

There is one near Trocadero, if you go towards Leicester Square you will find it on your right hand side. There is a money exchange agency there. Just ask them.

Just send Barry a private message.

Hope that helps

All the best

Fidel

I just ordered my copy today after I shot something with no left audio channel, I figured I'd better before any other dumb mistakes were made, I have to say though I can't wait to get it!
