I'd like to order a copy of the book today (Friday 17th) but am going out of town the 21st for Xmas. I would really like to have the book for the plane ride. If I ordered today, is there any way I could get it by Monday? Another option is to get it sent to my destination, but I am only there until the 29th. It would have to arrive there before I leave.

Well... um... let's see. Right now I'm sold out, expecting the reprint on Tuesday. I have exactly one book here, but the edge is a little damaged (not bad, but I haven't wanted to send it to a customer who ordered and expects a pristine copy). If you want I could fed-ex it for 10:30 delivery on Monday morning, which would cost an additional $10 or so... or I could just send you a regular copy by priority mail when I get the re-orders, which are supposed to (read: "supposed to") arrive here Tuesday, and it normally takes 3-4 days to get where it's going via priority mail.
If you have a Fed-Ex or UPS account number, I'll ship it to you overnight to your account at no additional charge of course.
Time's short though, it's 2:00 Pacific time here, and Fed-Ex cuts off at 4:00, so let me know soon which way you'd prefer to go.

I have had the book for a few weeks now and it is wonderful! One really nice thing you could add to the dvd could be some txt files with the settings listed out - Just a sugesstion. This book has been very helpful and the DVD really helps where a book connot. Great job!

Thanks! I always envisioned them as companion products, because a DVD can demonstrate things a book can't, but you can fit so much more into a book, etc.
Yes, the settings could have been spelled out in a more conveniently-accessible format. I figured that someone would watch the DVD, see a look they like, and pause it right then and there so they could write down the settings, rather than trying to remember the name of a "look", but I do see the value in your suggestion!

I'm very glad that you're getting value from it, and the entire goal was to empower DVX'ers to understand and use their cameras better and more effectively, so it's very cool to hear that it's helping! Hey Barry. I just ordered your book yesterday. I'd like that last copy that you have. I really dont care if the edges are worn a little. Does this copy come everything (DVD etc.)?
If you have reprints on Tuesday, will you be able to mail them out the same day? If so, I guess I can wait. I was just trying to beat the Christmas mail rush.

I'm worried about the Christmas mail rush as well... I'm supposed to get the first box of reprints Fed-Exed on Monday so I should have 'em Tuesday, and then they all go in the mail that same day.
I'll know more on Monday whether it got shipped out or not. What I would send you is complete (I have lots of DVD's, just currently out of books but those have been reprinted). Like I say, it's just a small munge on the top 1/2" of the book spine, not bad at all, but not "perfect"...

It's done pretty well, the community has been very supportive and I thank you very much! It hasn't sold enough to pay off all the deferred payments in full yet, but I have been able to pay people more than half of what I told them they could eventually earn!
(and with any luck, the new year will bring them 100% payoff!)

I haven't received word yet. However, I've decided that all existing domestic orders will get delivered by Christmas, if that means I have to eat the cost to upgrade them all to free overnight shipping.

Well, I'm still hoping that they'll arrive here tomorrow, and then Priority Mail should get 'em to a good 2/3 of the country without worry. But I'm planning for a contingency -- if for some reason they don't show up here tomorrow, or Wednesday, I'm still going to do everything I can to make sure people have them. I'm hoping that I don't have to go to the FedEx or ExpressMail route because it's a big expense, but if that's what we need to do that's what we'll do.

I just ordered your DVD and book. I'm excited but not for the usual reason. I got my DVX100A in Feb. and except for some shooting inside my home I've hardly used it. I know how great the camera is but I've actually started thinking about selling it because I haven't been able to really get the hang of it. I'm an actor and I want to make movies so I don't want to sell it and I'm excited that your DVD and book will help and change my mind. Thanks for making this product.
