Re: Barry's Ultimate DVD guide/book available

Hey Rush, yours will go out tomorrow. I was going to send it today but then I got hung up on the diea of working up a back cover thing, which would have the ISBN/UPC code and a description of what's in it, etc... and then eventually I said "aw, forget it, you can review it as-is, and if you like it, that'll give me time to get the back cover together!" :)

Jim, I think you're right, and next time I'll try to provide more and wider variety of examples...

Barry,

What about a collaborative effort of DVX Users contributing to a DVD about techniques that work for them. I could tell you were under so much pressure from everybody to get it done. Why not connect with several others, give them a specific topic that is their strength, and you put it together as the producer. It would be cool to see the different angles and points of view expressed on this board.

Just a thought. I guess the phrase "1 percent of 100 men's efforts, than 100% of one man's effort." would apply here.
I don't want you to burn out all your knowledge and then forget what you learned if another one of these projects almosts gets the best of you.

Re: Barry's Ultimate DVD guide/book available

Just ordered it. Hope I get mine soon!
Please! Feature starting! Help!

Re: Barry's Ultimate DVD guide/book available

I see that the book also includes the anamorphic guide. Is that the same guide listed here: http://www.dvxuser.com/articles/anaguide/?
Are the charts included too?

Also, somewhere on the forum I saw images of stickers (maybe replicating the charts) that go on the anamorphic adaptor itself. Are those also part of the package?

Thanks.

Re: Barry's Ultimate DVD guide/book available

I got mine, drove up to Big Bear California, got snowed in and watched it on my portable DVD player. Made being snowed in quite enjoyable. I will keep this and rename my Birns and Sawyer DVD "frizby".

That guide has been incorporated as a chapter in the book, so all the text is there, yes. All the charts are included in the text of the book. There are no additional stickers or other physical manufactured pieces included.

Re: Barry's Ultimate DVD guide/book available

Does the book talk abou the DVX100 or 100a? Just wondering before i purchase it?

Re: Barry's Ultimate DVD guide/book available

It covers both in detail. It covers all menu settings and changes and differences between the two, and the DVD shows all the 100A settings as well. But for the "Magic Bullet" simulations, I did them using only DVX100 settings so that owners of both cameras could use the looks. So it talks in depth about the 100 but adds on segments that are specific for the 100A.

Re: Barry's Ultimate DVD guide/book available

Hey Barry, will the book be around for a while? I'm in no need currently to get the camera yet, and I am going to wait for NAB just to see if panny throws us something really great. So will the book/dvd be around for the next few months?

Re: Barry's Ultimate DVD guide/book available

I have a feeling that'll be for a long, long time... ;)

Re: Barry's Ultimate DVD guide/book available
