I got my book and DVD 2 days ago and love it. Barry, well done. The most informative book on the dvx I've ever read. The DVD Rocks too!! Thank you for creating such a great book!!

As far as the DVD, it's more introductory and tutorial. The book portion goes into extreme detail on the DVX though... hopefully that will satisfy your need for a more advanced edition? :)

On the next one's we could have cinematography styles/moods reproduced on the DVX, a how to guide on settings, like Matrix, Private ryan, noir, etc..   I know it depends on post and ligth design as well but it would be a very helpfull guide!

That's exactly what I have planned for the first of the lighting DVD's we're working on now (or, well, will be working on as soon as I get this current camera comparison project done!)

Hi Mike,

Yours went out in the second batch, on the 15th. Look above where someone said that they pre-ordered theirs in canada and just got it yesterday... hopefully that will mean that yours should arrive today or tomorrow!

barry one strange suggestion that might actually work out really well, post the dvd on ebay, a LOT of people who have dvx's i'm sure search on ebay for dvx who have never heard of dvxuser.com

if i were you i would try that out and maybe you could wind up posting one all the time on there, and of course you can mention dvxuser.com in the description.

Actually, that's where I first saw the filter DVD for sale, even before I knew it was Jarred's! So yeah, I'll try that -- thanks for the suggestion!

Hi I did place my order for DVX guide and DVD a few days ago, should I receive an email from you to confirm the order or the PayPal confirmation is final and I just have to wait for the parcel to arrive. From your experience, how long does it take.... I live in Hong Kong.

I am new to this forum and I just got my camera a couple days ago. I just ordered this book and dvd and hope that it's worth the money.... from reading everyone else's posts I am thinking it is. Can't wait to get it.

HI BARRY, I am trying to order the book and DVD package through PayPal but it does not support Bermuda which is where I am and I have no other credit card address. What do I do ? I leave Bermuda for L.A. on Wednesday, December 8, and would love to have it before I leave.

Hmmm. I'm not sure. We don't really have any other ordering system established. You could try Western Union, but that'll likely be quite a bit more expensive... They used to have a Bidpay service for auction buying, where they'd directly mail a money order right to the seller. Maybe that'd work.

Global Priority Mail (which is what we use for international orders) says it takes anywhere from 4-7 days, so unless the order is placed very soon, there's a chance it may not arrive there by Dec. 8th either. Do you want me to just send it to the L.A. address?
